They're 2 weeks old.
It's been a wonderful week. We took pictures of everyone at 8 days old. I just got them put on the site this morning. As of today: Everyone has their eyes open. Bright light will be an issue for several days so no new pictures until the end of week. Also exciting news, everyone is "motoring" around on all 4 feet. Not always steady but fun to watch. White and Brown get awards for first to conquer 4 legged travel. They're both pretty good at it by now. Of course that means speedy White is even harder to keep track of.
All puppies got their nails trimmed and weighed on Saturday. It's becoming a ritual. We've learned to catch them while sleepy. Far less wiggling when it's a sleepy puppy.
Weight stats are as follows:
Purple 2 lbs. 2 oz.
Pink 2 lbs. 4 oz.
Lime 2 lbs. 0 oz. This is our petite girl
Blue 2 lbs. 3 oz.
Red 2 lbs. 3 oz.
BRG 2 lbs. 2 oz.
Yellow 2 lbs. 4 oz.
White 2 lbs. 3 oz.
Brown 2 lbs. 4 oz.
Lime and Purple opened their eyes first. Now that they have their eyes open, I feel stared at. I know they aren't supposed to be able to actually see this early, BUT... I still feel all eyes on me.
Oh on a different note, Brown Barks. Mostly they all make little baby noises but Brown likes to show off his attitude with a bark.
The puppies got to meet their 3 month old big brother Reddington this weekend. Reddington loves Lila and follows her everywhere when she is out of the whelping room. Lila allowed Reddington to enter the whelping room on Sunday. She didn't seem to mind at all when he ate her spare bowl of food or drank from her water dish. Then he walked over and gave Purple a big lick on the head. Lila just watched with patience. She's a great Mom.
Lila has been going for walks every morning with Tori and Reddington. They seem to enjoy this time together and Lila has been more willing to spend time away from her puppies. Tom takes the gang out while I clean the whelping room. No Lila or Reddington underfoot makes the job go faster. Rocket just stays in bed so he's never a problem.
Puppy visits start next week. If you would like to get on my schedule feel free to drop me an e-mail or call.
